Why I Do This

I didn't choose plumbing—plumbing chose me. I grew up watching my father run Janvrin Plumbing, watching him take calls at dinner, watching him leave family gatherings to help a neighbor whose basement was flooding.

At first, I didn't get it. Why would you interrupt your life for other people's emergencies?

Then I started working alongside him. I saw the relief on a homeowner's face when we fixed their water heater on Christmas Eve. I saw the gratitude when we showed up on a Sunday morning to repair a burst pipe. I understood: In small towns, this isn't just a job—it's a responsibility.

When I took over in 1985, I made a promise to continue what my father started: treat every customer like family, because in Decatur, they are. Your neighbor is my customer. Your church member is my customer. Your kid's teacher is my customer.

40 years later, we've served over 20,000 homes. Reader's Choice has named us Best Plumber 11 years running. But the thing I'm most proud of? We still answer our own phone. Kyle Janvrin personally oversees every project. And we treat your home exactly like we'd treat our own.
